Intro to Clowning Workshop – August 15, 2026
Whether you’ve always been fascinated by clowns, are looking for a creative outlet, or simply want to learn something completely different, our Intro to Clowning workshop is the perfect place to begin.
Throughout the day, you’ll learn the basics of clowning from experienced clowns in a fun, supportive, hands-on environment. By the end of the workshop, you’ll have the knowledge and confidence to continue developing your own unique clown character.
What You’ll Learn

During this introductory workshop, you’ll explore:
- Clown performance fundamentals and basic clown skills
- Costume selection and developing your clown’s look
- Clown makeup design and application
- Character development and performance choices
- How clowns perform at community events and volunteer opportunities throughout the Atlanta area
- Ways to continue learning and developing your clown through meetings, workshops, and performances
Who Should Attend?

This workshop is perfect for anyone who has ever been curious about clowning—whether you want to perform at community events, volunteer your time bringing smiles to others, or simply learn a fun and rewarding new skill.
No previous clowning or performance experience is necessary.

Registration
- $75 through July 15, 2026 (Early Registration)
- $85 beginning July 16, 2026
Class size is limited to 20 participants, so early registration is strongly encouraged.
Age Requirements
- Ages 12 and up are welcome
- Students under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian
- Students under 18 must have parental or guardian permission to participate

Your registration fee includes:
- Clown Workshop Book
- Small clown makeup kit
- Balloons, props, and other fun clown supplies to use during the workshop and take home
- Lunch (sandwich and salad)
More Than a One-Day Workshop
This workshop is designed to give you a strong foundation, but clowning develops through practice, performance, and community experience.
If you enjoy the workshop, you’ll have the opportunity to continue your clown journey with our alley by participating in regular meetings, training sessions, and community service performances throughout the year. You’ll also be able to perform alongside experienced clowns and continue developing your character at your own pace.
Whether your goal is to entertain, volunteer in the community, or simply enjoy a creative new hobby, this workshop is a first step into a larger world of clowning.
